The Willows Room has a King bed and views over Queen’s Park from the large bay window. The ensuite has a full bathroom with a spa bath.
Alas! There are no willow trees in our garden. The name comes from Ratty a large grey velvet rat who sported a lavender grosgrain bow. He always sat on the end of my Grandmother’s bed. I had him for many years after she died but he was lost in one of many house moves.
As a child I didn’t think a toy rat was at all unusual as I was in love with all the characters of The Wind in the Willows, hence the name. I expect he was actually something to do with the Rats of Tobruk who made rats popular symbols at the time.
The White Horse Room has a double bed and a beautiful old cast iron fireplace. During my childhood, a ceramic horse from the White Horse Whisky Company stood on the mantelpiece over the fireplace. This room has a full bathroom and a connecting door leads to an enclosed veranda which has two divans. These can be rented as part of The White Horse Suite (See below).
In addition to The White Horse Room (above) you will have the adjoining, enclosed back verandah with two divan beds. Ideal for a family.
The Pink Poppies Studio is a studio apartment with a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. There is also an eat in kitchen. It has it’s own entry and is fully self-catering. It is not part of our bed and breakfast service.
